The Borough of Collegeville is located in Montgomery County Pennsylvania and has a population of 4,682. During nine months of the year, Ursinus College adds 1,000 residents to the Borough.
The name Collegeville was chosen as a compromise for the residents of Freeland and Perkiomen Bridge when the railroad came through the Lower Perkiomen Valley and needed a name for the local station. The choice of Collegeville was to honor the Pennsylvania Female College.
Borough government consists of seven elected Council persons, an elected Mayor, and various appointed positions. Administration is handled by an appointed Borough Manager.
